Place a heat pack over the affected area. Do not heat it up to the point that it can burn your skin. Leave the heat pack on for 30 minutes at a time. A great time to use heat is before performing therapeutic exercises.

Stretching

Gently assume the required stretch
Do not exceed your limits, this should be comfortable. Do not bounce while stretching as this can cause injury. Perform 3 sets x 30 seconds, unless otherwise prescribed by a health care practitioner.

My Chiro, Dr. Aaron and Associates - Kinesio taping for shoulder pain

Kineseo & Dynamic Tape

This tape functions as a second skin and should stay on anywhere between 1 and 5 days. Swim, shower and bath as usual, Do NOT apply a hairdryer to the tape as the glue is heat activated and can cause skin burns. If you develop a skin irritation, remove the tape and notify your practitioner

Rigid tape

Rigid Tape

Rigid tape is strong and is designed to stabilise joints and body parts. Ensure that the strapping is not too tight and is not infereing with circulation. If you are in doubt, please call us or remove the tape. This taping lasts for a long time, we suggest that you do not get it wet as the material can become quite soggy and smelly. Try to use a plastic packet to cover the strapped area when bathing.

IASTM

The FAKTR tool is our instrument of choice for soft tissue manipulation. The goal of the treatment is to break down areas of adhesions and scar tissues. When this happens, a red patch or blotchy appearance may occur on the surface of your skin. This is normal, not painful and typically only lasts for a few days before vanishing.

My Chiro, Dr. Aaron and Associates - Dry Needling

Dry Needling

Significant stiffness can occur following dry needling. This is due to the breakdown of stagnant tissue and the initiation of the healing process. Patients report that stiffness can last anywhere between 1 and 5 days. Stiffness is completely normal and a good prognostic sign.

My Chiro, Dr. Aaron and Associates - Joint Manipulation

Manipulation

Chiropractic manipulation is a very controlled and gentle intervention.
Most patients do not report pain during the adjustment and typically feel better post treatment. The painful joints, which are often stiff and stuck, have not moved in some time. This is why manipulation may result in some stiffness or minor discomfort owing to the stretching of ligaments necessary to initiate healing.
